Integrate E-commerce Platforms with RS - Sell Services & Products in Sync - BOOM!!
This idea is an excerpt from the ever popular "Add ability to sell Serial Number Products in RepairShopr! Antivirus, Backup Software, etc".
This is a new thread so the previous idea can be marked as complete (awesome!).
Here are the goals:
Sync Inventory with a shopping cart platform.
a. Allows to sell services, client purchases, and all inventory that is in RS on an shopping cart platform
b. Ability to turn configure visibility of a RS product on the ecommerce site like a checkbox stating “Show on E-commerce Site” or “Don’t show on E-Commerce Site”Sync past purchases/invoices between both platforms
a. See all invoices through either the client portal in RS or the “My Account” page on the E-Commerce PlatformUtilize Marketr between both platforms to…
a. Remind clients about upcoming maintenance services
b. Remind clients to renew their AV subscription easily though a website
c. Remind clients to renew any subscription based products (Either clients do this themselves or they ask for assistance from us) – Product Subscription examples would be data backup, AV, VIP programs, Web Site Hosting, and MSP programs.
Here are some of the ideas on E-Commerce Platforms (Hosted and Self-Hosted Solutions). They must support the REST API system for RS to integrate well (maybe some input from the RS development team on these requirements?)
Best Self Hosted Options I’ve Found (PHP/MYSQL based): Magento, Prestashop, WooCommerce, Volution , and X-Cart.
Easiest to Setup and Theme, in order, from my experience (I’ve never setup Volution but I hear it’s a popular platform)
1. Prestashop
2. WooCommerce
3. X-Cart
4. Magento
Considerations: Addons/Extensions/Themes/Developer Costs
Approximate Startup Costs ($0 to $1000): PrestaShop, WooCommerce, X-Cart
Approximate Startup Costs ($1000 to $5,000): Magento
Cloud Hosted Options ($30 to $500+ per month): Shopify
What would you like to see?
I’m going to mark this complete with the caveat that we haven’t completed the subscription portions, or delivering of serial numbers – but we’ll keep working toward it!
This is live for beta testers, live for everyone in a week or two.
Please note that WooCommerce is the only E-Commerce platform we’re supporting at the moment.

Shopify is a must have now. Not really whether we do it or not but when. Shopify is too big to continue to ignore.

With the $9/month shopify plan, this could be a game changer for many computer companies.
Also... a while ago you asked me to let you know when we hit $2,000/month in ecommerce sales. We are now averaging $4.5K each month and currently hold "Top Rated Plus" status which is the highest rating on eBay.
We use Shopify for this. Ebay is our primary sales channel. We have 600+ items on our store. Majority of it is tech related (about 85% of it) at drastic discounts. If you'd like to see the progress, go here --> https://www.asisstuff.com or our ebay store at --> https://www.ebay.com/str/asisstuff2018
Anyways, that is the proof. It would be great to use Shopify with RepairShopr.
Users could do a "button only" store for $9/month for a normal hosted store page for $30/month. Either way, Shopify is the easiest to use.
I'm hoping that woocommerce wasn't a waste of time... We heavily tested both platforms. Woocommerce lacked "finesse". However... its better than nothing! Thanks for getting the Woocommerce integration started.

@Troy - Shopify has come a LONG ways since we spoke. I've changed my vote to Shopify from Woocommerce. You were right! :)

I would like to see inventory integrations with Shopify.

Can we update this to be documented and fully functional with version 4.7? Little difficult to follow the docs that are extremely outdated.

Antivirus renewal - with an auto email including the next serial number in inventory is greatly needed. Is this still in the works?

Definitely want to add my voice to this one. Repairshopr has everything we need, but the POS is a little simple, we need ecommerce.

I would add virtue mart which is a shopping cart system for Joomla.

I would strongly support this effort to integrate with Prestashop. Currently the inventory management feature of Repair Shopr is basic, this would hopefully bring it more into line with what Prestashop offers and be much better.

I would like to add Shopify to this list of possible integrations :) It is the largest hosted ecommerce solution and their api is sound and well documented.

I vote for ANY of these actually happening. But mainly WooCommerce, because reasons...

I vote for woocommerce...I think the single most important reason for developers to start on that ASAP is that woocommerce has ebay and amazon integration already built in via 3rd party plugin.
need it. need it. need it.
the fact that its already done saves rs devs a ton of work and gets us to two birds with one stone.

This is by far the most 'Obvious' next step for RS, but it needs to do this right. Wordpress and Joomla are the most popular platforms for a company website, so it would make sense that WooCommerce is a leading contender (I actually use Ecwid but getting fed up of the lack of ... well... anything happenng!! - So going to ditch that platform as soon as I have time) but what that experience has taught me is that it is better to either do your own system, but you DO need all the bells and whistles from day one as people have expectations now when they come to shop online and online we are directly competing with the big boys, or 2) provide really good sync ability with an already existing platform that does things great.
Why Woocommerce - 1) it runs on the most popular platform used, therefore there is more chance that RS customers are already utilising a platform. 2) there are LOADS of add ons for it 3) Templates are very easy to make or purchase -

This would be a really exciting idea similar to the other widgets already offered. I think even if it was at that simple level it would be an amazing addition to the inventory side of things and really allow repairshopr to be a one stop shop for everything needed with a repair company.

What a GREAT idea! I am looking for just such a thing where I can put my "wares" out there and have the customers buy at will.
