Change "From" name in outbound emails
Right now, the outbound email updates just come from the full email address of whatever your URL is (ie. ticketupdate@yourwebsite.com). It would be nice to have a custom "name" field like normal emails have. That way, email updates would show as:
From: Your Company ticketupdate@yourwebsite.com
Subject: Ticket Update (id: 407665)
This should be live!

for ticket comments, we put the tech "Full Name" if you have it populated, or we put the account name. (your business name).
For others that go to customers, we use the business name. You can change that in the admin section if you want. (The business name)
There isn't a setting for this, it's just on for everyone.

Hi Robert,
We did notice this went live recently, and by default shows the name as "Tech Name". Is there any way you can add some customizations options into the admin settings somewhere? For our normal emails, we set the name as "TechFirstName - Company Name". Otherwise, we'd like to just set the name as "Company Name".
@Matthew - It's automatic and shows the tech name as they appear in your users.
@Jonas - Yeah, this was just a miscommunication. Chuck and I are tight now.
@Chuck - Remember before we talked on the reg? You were stiff back then ;) -

How do we access it?

Hello Chuck!
You do clearly not understand what Ryan was talking about. Please make it possible to change the "from" name. NOT THE FROM E-MAIL ADRESS!!!!"Please look in the current knowledgebase before submitting ideas like this. Here is the link that describes how to do this."
What?? It does not describe how to change the NAME, only the e-mailadress.
It would be nice if you made it possible to change the from name from "nothing" too something (ex.: company name)
THANK YOU! :)

@Chuck - I actually was talking about the "name" that is shown in the "From" line, not the "email" address that is displayed. Basically, when customers are looking in their email inbox, we don't want to show up as ticketupdate@mywebsite.com. We want to have a "name" that shows up, like Company Name <ticketupdate@mywebsite.com>. That way we have a personalized name, instead of just an email address.
I think the RS dev team got what I was saying... (All this sounds condescending, but is not intended to. Sorry!)
