I would get this software but the information is stored of your server and not ours.
You should offer a downloadable package for the customers to install on their server.
Sorry! At this time that isn’t going to be part of our business model, we understand that there will be some people that don’t want to use a hosted product – but that number is shrinking rapidly compared to the number that don’t want to deal with a server and backups.
Most people have been moving to the cloud for a while anyways, for example, using 1and1 for their email hosting is probably putting more private information in the cloud than what they would store in RepairShopr.
We’ll update here if we change our minds!

Or at least the ability to encrypt data ourselves with a key we provide.

I also agree that a self-hosted solution does make sense. In places where a stable internet connection is not readily available, cloud-based solutions are not feasible. Make a self-hosted option available, with maybe a few features removed. Once off cost plus plus annual fees maybe, so if you haven't paid for the year, then your local system is disabled.

I second the notion for a self-hosted option. I use a variety of tools right now, all hosted and backed up on our own server, including a functional crm. I'd also be willing to pay more for this if you offered it, including the option for a one-time payment. If there was a one-time payment option, then you could charge an annual plan for updates. Just a thought. :)
