allow adding the new lead as an update to an existing ticket.

Yes! this, and if it could look in the subject for the ticket number and automatically assign it, tat would be even better.
say if a software vendor for a customer of yours emails you with information pertaining to a specific ticket.

This would be great. Most of our leads are VM to Text emails from our PBX, and many of those VMs are from clients providing additional info on an existing ticket (providing requested passwords for example). Would be great to single click and add to existing ticket.
