Tax and Reports
We have an issue that all reports and screens show a subtotal including tax, then the tax total and finally the Grand total including tax. This is very confusing and causes us complaints. What should be the correct format would be Subtotal Excluding tax, then the tax total and finally the grand total.
It is also not clear what screens are asking for tax free prices or including tax prices, there does seem to be any consistency which causes us issues.
We updated tax reports a while back. Should be set when used in combination with bundles.

This is a huge hurdle for us that would save a lot of time and headaches. We would love to see an inclusive tax option that would allow the parts to be taxed but it is not necessarily broken down on the invoice the customers see.

As mentioned by Donald this is the wrong way around for New Zealand too, our normal use would be as he described for the UK (except we use GST instead of VAT). This also creates an issue with Xero integration where it switches Xero to tax inclusive mode on invoice sync.
One more related issue is with inventory items. Currently we have to enter item prices tax inclusive. We buy parts based on tax exclusive prices in NZ so every time we enter a new item we have to manually calculate the tax and enter the tax inclusive price.
What would be nice would be to have another price field for tax exclusive and have RS automatically calculate the tax based on the default tax rate. The resultant tax inclusive figure would then populate the price inclusive field. Conversely entering the tax inclusive price in the price inclusive field would automatically populate the tax exclusive price field :)

I'll add to this. Things appear to be the wrong way around for the UK. Items should be priced ex-VAT (no TAX), then a subtotal should be calculated without VAT and finally the total including VAT.
Seems to be the other way around - prices are inclusive of VAT so subtotal and total are the same. Fix this and you probably have another customer as everything else that I need appears to be there.

I'll second this...
being new to RS the asmount of times I've had to re-look up info from help pages is crazy... then i have staff doing exactly the same.
Layout definately needsw a tweek.
Also, would be great to see when setting a price, the markup, margin and actual profit so we can easily check we are creating enough profit to be paying the bills... am used to this from my last till system and it helped staff get the right minimum price when ordering stock without sitting there with a calculator in front of the customer (which always looks a little bit like we're trying to rip them off - we're not - we're just trying to make sure we make money - not lose it - lol)
