Automatically calculate markup
We (like many other repair shops) use a standard markup strategy and pricing chart. It would be awesome to have an option in inventory to use a set markup rate, or use a pre-selected markup option.
By this, I mean you could have a few price ranges with corresponding markup rates, like: Parts that cost $1-$25 have a 100% markup, parts $26-50 are 60%, $51-100 is 30%, and $100+ are 20%. The other option (if not global like previously mentioned) would be item #65484 has an auto-markup of 25%, or alternatively $15.
This would take almost all of the work out of techs having to calculate markup, sometimes incorrectly.
We just released a Feature Friday covering the new Inventory Markup update. Find more here:

Hi ya, Just wanted to make sure before enabling, will it adjust all of the prices in our existing inventory if I enable this?

A good step forward thank you!
I would suggest that in addition to the global default that categories should have a markup attribute.
This permits you to say all Cables should be marked up 80% while all hard drives might be marked up 30%.

This would streamline business!
We need this.
We should be able to choose the adjustable cost spread then the % to apply to that spread.Have it round to the nearest whole dollar amount option too.
keeping it from making parts have an odd price, like $37.42 just round to $37.00This would give the techs more time to do repairs.

Still under review since Mar 2014?

So this has been under review since 2014 ... I feel like this would be an easy option to add and save tons of time. Even if it was not as robust as the OP describes it would be better than having to manually calculate retail price for each inventory item.

I was just adding this to feedback when I saw this in the side panel. Please make this a thing. It'll stop me having to open the calculator and copy/paste half a dozen times for non-stocked items.

I was just getting ready to make a suggestion that the 'markup' percentage field on the 'add inventory' screen would allow us to enter our desired markup percentage and automatically fill the Retail Price field

Its very nice that we can create an estimate/invoice/ticket and see the cost of an inventory item on the screen. However we need to be able to add multiple items (including labor) and see our total cost vs profit on the screen. We quote complex goods and services every day and we are in business for a profit. We must be able to review cost vs profit throughout repairshopr. I saw this was planned. Do we have anything definitive in the works?

Out of vote, but also would like auto markups. POs are always changing costs but retail price doesn't move with it.

Any updates on this... seems like it's been 'under review' for a while now.

This would definitely be useful on the estimates screen so you can see your profit in $ per item and adjust your sales price up or down instead of manually calculating your per item profit.
