Allow Users to Lock Session
The Switch User with PIN screen is very handy, but it would be good if this screen could become more of a Lock Screen.
This would allow the terminal to be 'signed out' but not 'logged out' fully.
Eg, a Manager could finish on a terminal and hit Switch User.
The next user to come along can use either their PIN number or full login, but not be able to click close and resume the session with the permissions of the last user.
New POS features and z-report are live! Look forward to further feedback.

just to bump something I had already mentioned before, especially where systems are being shared among staff and the timeout hasn't triggered (it doesn't always do it)....
"Also, when booking in a ticket, can it force the user to enter pin at this stage? This would 100% fix the issue where tickets are being created by the wrong people due to remaining signed in?
Maybe rather than a "Time Out' method, a better way would be to "Sign In with PIN" when doing anything. So regardless of who's email is used to authenticate the main login, it requires PIN every time."

I would really like it if repairshopr would keep your place when the timeout page pops up. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Like, it might keep partially typed data in a different tab than the one you switched users on. But on your main tab, if you were in the middle of putting data into a field, it typically loses that data which can get pretty frustrating.

We have also noticed the stability issues, doesn't happen often but it does happen, and could we PLEASE have this globally on the site. we don't use the POS module much but need to make sure our people are logged into their own account when completing work.

We have also noticed this stability issue that Pat mentions. Put pin in and no matter how many times you hit Enter or click Login it doesn't do anything. So have to login by email.

I agree, this need to be system wide when turned out, otherwise not really that usefull, also noticed ever since the update to this pin login, it is less stable, we are seeing that I can switch users a few times on a machine, but after a few it stops working and once it does you have to go back to the login screen to log in with username and password

Feedback on this update...
90% there. In principle it works well for POS side. Can we force it to happen for pretty much everything, so that when a tech creates a ticket it logs out after the idle time set for PIN? Would work everywhere I would expect, and further increase security as we often find higher level techs remain signed in, so it leaves it open for lower authorised users to gain access.
Also, when booking in a ticket, can it force the user to enter pin at this stage? This would 100% fix the issue where tickets are being created by the wrong people due to remaining signed in?

Keep up the great work!!

yes we are having difficulty with employees remembering to switch to their user. It's very small in the upper right corner.

here here. Having to sign in with a full email address and password is a bit of a nightmare. A master account for 1st level auth, and then a simple PIN which reveals who the logged in user is and what their account allows. After each transaction or event, it logs out, so new user needs to simply enter a PIN. If security is such an issue, attach with that a user ID -2 digit ID number and couple that with the PIN.
Saves time and still retains overall security of your RS login.

Agreed, with today best practices and services that require more security, this would be a great feature.

I will vote with my comment since I ran out of votes for all the great ideas people come up with!

100 % back this idea - Timeout then the Pin Screen, would be good to offer staff swipe card option as well.

Yes! also, if the time our feature would "lock" the session rather than a full log off. This way I could ensure that people are logged on the correct user without the hassle of a full user name and pass word every time.
