Improve the printing system
We've got multiple computers/printers to attend our customers.
When I set every ticket printer throught google print, I get a ticket printed on every ticket printer on the shop.
I imagine the quickest and simplest solution would be to add a second level dropdown to the print menu.
It should be possible to choose to which printer is going to receive the ticket receipt and/or labels (In an ideal world, every computer could be identified, maybe through the browser, so that I could automate the printer selection).
It should also be possible to modify printers and labels, we have several ticket receipt printers and label printers, we don't want to lock ourselves to a specific label printer (specially when we have quite some blank labels in stock).
A simple option to define the label/receipt size, and a html template to arrange/modify/remove items would be a good start.
We think that AutoPrintr solves this, as you can now install it on multiple computers for much more granular control. It still doesn’t let you “select a printer” – but it does give much more control.

@Troy The bit you mention about registers having independent printers, how do we set this up? Yes we can choose PDF and print locally, but it's more clicks. Be nice to have the ability to setup groups as mentioned already for say Till1, Till2, back office etc, and then on each system there is a unique way (maybe by MAC address) that RS see's that system. So then simply uses whichever defined set of printers for that terminal.
Cloud print may not be able to do this, shame. But could RS interface with selected Printers in Cloud print to be able to group them and do assignments as suggested?
New here btw..... :-)

One thing I don't like, especially on the POS module, is that if Receipts are not set up to print as trigger I don't have an option to print to receipt printer. Unless I am missing something. Not all of my customer need or want a receipt.

@pat - yeah, cloud print isn't perfect - the problem is, no other solution exists. The best you can do is set yourself up for success with a solid understanding of the system. I recently wrote this post to try to provide more insight - hope it helps: http://www.repairshopr.com/blog/posts/cloud-print-how-to-setup-printers-for-little-trouble

Just everything printing wise is on the overall poorly thought out and mostly unstable, wish there was simplier ways, or just simple trigger the built in windows print system to popup then I can choose real fast where everthing needs to print, google cloud print is ok, but is slow and unstable at best, you are always having to do little things to keep it going

Just noticed a new comment on this, so we are on the same page - registers can attach to printers as of a few months ago.
Having overrides based on users would allow people to have a "front office" and "back office" printer of each type for example, that makes sense..
Are there other issues?

Can also add that will be very helpful to chose to which printer sen the task depend on user. We have different location but use one database, so we have to download PDF on local computer and then print it. But different locations have different users, so linking them to exact printers looks grate idea.

Another option would be to enable linking of multiple google chrome accounts to repairshopr, and allowing cloudprint for multiple accounts. This way, whatever chrome account you are logged into on the computer would link to the proper printers. Would solve the issue of multiple POS registers and printers for automated printing.
Our goal is to automatically print to the proper printer, not just 1 printer in our store, based upon what station you are at.

I agree 100% and just submitted a ticket for this. I'm thinking linking it to the register would solve our issue too. We take payments at two registers per store, and we have two label printers, two receipt printers, two full size printers for full invoices. When I'm setting up google print, I'd like to see the following:
Printer (dropdown, which you have)
Location (dropdown, which you have)
Register (dropdown, which you don't have)Linking printers this way would solve our problem, 100%. Please advise if this can be addressed.

We have this problem as well, if we could just have repair shopr take into account the register you are using and only print to that resister's printer
