ScreenConnect API Integration
ScreenConnect is an alternative to LogMeIn/Teamviewer, and almost GFI Max. It doesn't provide as much info as GFI Max does, however it is much cheaper. The fact that it costs $300 per lifetime, and you get to run your own remote server that doesn't cost you anything more, is a huuuge plus. We made the jump when Logmein free went away, and I've loved it ever since. Super easy customization showing our logo, bizname/etc. Don't mean to get too carried away here, but it really has been a huge help since we found it, and I feel if more people used it, there would be a better chance to get an API in here.
Would be neat to be able to create a screenconnect private session through the ticket page(it'll email the customer the link/etc), and track remote sessions more easily. The screenconnect server has the option to create a private session and send them an email to get started. I'm guessing that would be available.Their information can be found at http://www.screenconnect.com/OEM-Integration-Solutions
Searching their forum that is linked on that page made several mentions of a rest API. Let me know everyones thoughts on this.
Hey everyone – we have updated the help page to explain that you need to create an API key on both sides that match.
Also – we are not requiring SSL now – although you probably should still add it (if possible) to your server.

For everyone who needs help generating an API key from SC (due to no instructions):
1. Go to the "Admin" tab at the top of SC.
2. Click "Extensions" on the left side menu.
3. Click the "Extras" drop down menu on the top menu bar of SC.
4. Click "Generate API Token", copy the API token code to your clipboard.
5. In SC, click the "Options" drop down menu on the RepairShopr integration.
6. Click "Edit Settings", change the value of ApiToken to "Custom", and paste in the API token.
7. Click "Save Settings".
8. Now go to your RS Admin console, go to the "Apps" page, and open the SC add-in.
9. Paste in the API token and your full SC URL, including HTTP or HTTPS (if you have SSL).
NOTE: You will need to leave on the port number if SC isn't running on ports 80/443.Hope this helps everyone. Took me forever to find out how to do this...

It's published and the FAQ still hasn't been created? I want it, I want it, I want it!

Please get this rolling! It would be very useful if you could add a link for SC connection for an asset as well. We are a MSP and have servers and workstations that are managed and have an unattended session hooked up to most of the assets in RepairShopr. Clicking a button to connect to them would be great!!

This is in beta but we'll follow up with ScreenConnect so this shows on their end.

@Troy: Can you explain what exactly this integration will do? I can see it adds a "Create ScreenConnect Session" button inside of tickets, and I assume that can create a session on the SC side. But what else will it do? Some things I'd like to see:
- Auto-name the SC session something custom (ticket number, customer name, etc).
- Add a link after clicking that button to launch the SC session (without logging in)
- Add a hidden comment to the ticket that a session was created by that specific tech.
- Add hidden comments about when a session is disconnected, re-joined, ended, etc.
- Add option to "end" a session so it deletes from the SC side.
- Add a button to email the customer a link to join the session created.Anyone else have ideas or input? @Chuck?

Could repairshopr be made to accept emailed in info to existing tickets?
Eg. if the subject contains a valid ticket number and came from a technician email address
then we could integrate everything!
I used to use Centrastage to email in issues to my old ticket system (eGroupWare EPL)... -

ScreenConnect would be a great alternative to the already available Teamviewer integration.
