Appointment Types - Remote, In Shop, Virtual
It would be nice to have an option when setting up an appointment for field jobs or onsite jobs and remote or phone appointments. I have changed the email templates to say appointment in stead of field job to limit confusion for customers who have remote access appointments- but when the appointment is created ALL appointments receive the same confirmation email that auto fills the customers address- this is awesome in the event that we are going on location they can know- but if we are scheduling a phone appointment or remote access meeting then this confuses the customer.
This is live!
Check out the appointment types stuff, there isn’t a help page on it yet – but check out Admin → Appointment Types
You can put custom instructions per type, like, for the Phone type you could put your standard conference call info, or shop phone, etc.
For Remote Support you could put your teamviewer instructions, etc.
Feel free to comment if you need more!

Is there a way to bill for time? I'd like to get some sort of payment up front for scheduled time.

I think a separate template would be great! I would put some instructions in and some other info specific to remote software.

Needs to be a separate template. My on-site template says things like "we'll call when we're on the way". My remote template would have a link to the website where they can initiate the remote session and have a few instructions in that regard.

Yes! I think the suggestion is definately based on the confusing emails that are sent out to clients. If there was only a way to get the right email to send out for remote, onsite or in service center.
We set the status to
Scheduled Remote
Scheduled On-Site
Schedule Service CenterBut the email sent out is the same template for everything and would be nice to have you attach a template for the status? That kind of does not sound right but i think someone may get the idea.

Love this idea mainly cause it sends an address right now.

Agree. Remote or phone call appointments need to remove the location too.

We also try to put "REMOTE" in the location field to help reduce confusion, but it would be nice if this could be a simple checkbox as we do a lot of remote work.

agreed. right now I manually enter "phone call" or "remote access" in the appointment location field when making appointments so it shows up on my customers confirmation email. But it would be nice to have seperate appointment types. or a quick dropdown option or something to make it less tedious. Remember the point of a CRM is to make things easy!

The email for an appointment or field job use the same template, which sends the customer an address (for confirmation) and definitely implies someone is coming to them. Having a separate template, and in particular, designating an appointment for remote support would be convenient. That way a link could even be incorporated for the remote access tool.

Maybe just have a drop down menu of sorts to select the appointment type.
